OJOS nuevos - Everyday Life in the Hogar with Pentax

Living in this girl’s home is like living with 25 sisters of all different ages.  They play, share, fight, pick, annoy each other, stand up for each other, cuddle with each other to stay warm in the winter, and throw each other in the pool in the summers.  Their moms away from home are the tías, the female staff members that care for the girls’ wellbeing.  The hogar provides the kids with room and board, an education, a safe environment to grow up in, and protection.  Every girl has her own story that brought her to the hogar, but their lives do not revolve around them living there.  On the contrary, they are bright, playful, and loving kids who live their life as the days come and are hungry to learn and be loved.

These pictures are great. It's so good to see the girls after so much time away. If you are still in Chile, tell Agata and Yanela that I saw their photos online and I am very impressed with their artistic ability! Thanks so much!
