Once the kids warmed up to the cameras and understood how the bells and whistles worked, we took day trips all over Santiago. We photographed by bus, metro, and motorcycle. We climbed hills, scaled walls, and crawled through crevices. We held the cameras right side up, upside down, balanced them, traded them, dropped them, and lost them. Shooting on the street was a balancing act between finding interesting things to document, stretching their imaginations to think of new ways to photograph, and learning how to take care of the equipment that they were loaned. ![]() Santiago as seen from Cerro Santo Lucia centers around the landmark Telefonica building, whose companyis one of the biggest cell phone providers here. © 2007 Agatha
